This had the intention of a gift to an organization that created a project for bringing sustainable agriculture to students. It was been a wonderful resource to learn about ways to grow, purchase, and produce in an environmentally conscious way. Aeration is a step to oxidizing the soil as it provides more circulation for nutrients to come in. In this piece, the object represents a tearing of a relationship between a land and its people. The steps that mark a path with blockages from this connection. This is caused by colonization as the shoes force the viewer to consider the space inhabited by these communities.
