Aeration shoes were made to be a donation to The Sustainable Agriculture Project, a farm housing plants for students in urban areas that wish to cultivate and learn about crops. The rhino model is after a footprint that can be used to supply the plants with enough oxygen to grow. The design is red and disturbing, as is the current tragedies of Missing and Murdered Native American People. The piece demonstrates all the actions of walking in a good path, yet we are only surprised with a horrific occurrence.
This group exhibition surrounds the piece in a culturally significant landscape, a place for meeting and ceremony for the Native American Student Association at Grand Valley State University.
