Aeration shoes were installed at The Sustainable Agriculture Project, a farm designed for students to learn how to cultivate their own garden. The rhino model is after a footprint that can be used to supply the plants with enough oxygen to grow. The design is symbolic red reads as the current tragedies of Missing and Murdered Native American People. The piece demonstrates how the awareness movements do not only demonstrate proper diligence to the families, but educate on how others can make a societal change. The leadership brings to the surface some of the darkest experiences that have lead to survivance and perseverance to communicate a deeply personal narrative. Like a beautiful painting buried with dirt, this piece illustrates the disaster of human design. A history that ought not to have been, and a place for connection to start. In the mourning of the women who lost their lives the art serves a purpose as a reminder to take a moment of silence and listen with grace.
