Gallery Exhibtions
As an exhibition displaying art from multiple sources, The Building Blocks of Society was also a collaboration by KaQui Wright and Aria Thomas. It features specific categories of social design in a bright, colorful, and digestible layout. This project conceptualizes the direction of recognizing each block as a separate system and how they can work in unity. The encounter of the information is at first overwhelming, but as the viewer slows down and lingers for a while, it adds participation in the project. This causes the audience to interact with the created space and adds the effect of activated social connections. The project highlights certain power structures within a society that offer governable rules to each person. An encouraged movement pattern increases the discussion of the work.
