Divinity is a recycled chair turned into a puppet theatre. The foam landscape slopes enhance a dream-like whimsy of the little world. The inspiration for the narration came from the artwork of the Middle Byzantine Period, through expressions of naturalism and luxury established in the figures. The illustrations were notable for early religious symbolism indicating a heavenly realm. The Graeco-proportional style had regained popularity and was distinct from Constantine’s reign, during which Christianity first emerged. This piece symbolizes the vitality of craftsmanship in the standards of beauty considered stylish in contemporary art. Emphasis is placed on themes of the intimacy of a handmade object, fluency in the material, and a palette for human expression.
